Using This Wiki

lug.wur.nl is a wiki - meaning (it should be) simple for anyone to edit, update and configure. Here at Wageningen U&R we want to be able to support Linux users, and allow you to support yourselves by updating and configuring the information in this wiki.

Logging in

This wiki is configured to use an LDAP backend for authentication. This means that it will contact the central Active Directory server using supported, open protocols and perform verification that your username exists and is valid to edit the wiki. As of the time of writing, the only requirement is that you are a valid WUR user.

To log in - look up in the upper right of this page. You should find 'Log in'. Click on it, and you should be presented with a login screen. Here, you can use your WUR account (i.e. user001 ) and password to log in. Voila! If all has gone well, you should now be able to create and edit pages.

Writing wiki pages

Mediawiki has a great page on this here. The only things to add to this advice is to make sure that things are on-topic - Linux and Mac help is great, even Windows hints if it's relevant to WUR, but keep the cookbooks and advertisements to the minimum.

The actual raw editing of a page is a little confusing to the novice - start here for helpful examples.
